'The Tempest' (Scenes)

Parkfield Cedars

23rd July 1910

Rev. Alfred Bater & Victor Vaughan

Following our first production of 'The Tempest' in 1909 members of the British Empire Shakespeare Society (Derby Branch), as we were known at the time, were invited to reprise some scenes from the play at a Mayoral garden party in the summer of 1910.

Three scenes from the play were performed twice during the day to much acclaim and delight from the assembled guests.

The Band Of The Derbyshire Yeomanry, conducted by Sydney Sadler, were also performing a concert as part of the event and they kindly provided musical accompaniment to our performance.  The full programme of entertainments for the day is reproduced below.
