As was the custom at the time in 1959 we presented our 'Shakespeare Festival' - two back-to-back productions in consecutive weeks at the old Derby Playhouse in Sacheveral Street.
This was the 5th time we had presented a production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and the show featured incidental music by Mendelssohn. The production of 'Othello' was our third and used costumes by B. J. Simmons & Co. Ltd. and wigs for the female characters provided by Gustave.
We hope to be able to add more information and photographs from this production soon.
