JULIUS CAESAR

Directed by Leni Robson

Power. Loyalty. Betrayal. Shakespeare’s tense political drama comes to life in this bold new production.

Set in the heart of ancient Rome, Julius Caesar tells the story of a city on the brink. As Caesar’s popularity soars, fear and suspicion grip the Senate. A group of conspirators decide the only way to save the Republic is to kill its leader – but the consequences of their actions spiral far beyond anything they planned.

Performed in traditional Roman costume, this production puts clarity and character at its core. From whispered conspiracies to crowd-stirring speeches, it’s a gripping story of ambition, honour, and how democracies break apart. Whether you're new to the play or already know how the knives will fall – Julius Caesar has never felt more relevant.

Julius Caesar will be performed in Markeaton Park, Derby from the 15th to the 18th of July 2026 at 7:30pm each evening, and at the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno from the 10th to the 13th of August 2026, times to be confirmed.
