UPCOMING PRODUCTIONS
MEN OF THE WORLD
Directed by Terry Smith
Preparing for a mystery trip to Scarborough three northern coach drivers pass the time remembering more exciting trips from the past, such as the one down the Rhine Valley. Stick hates his passengers and wishes he was doing the Spanish run, Larry is a seasoned traveller and Mario Lanza fan and Frank is their female counterpart. These three actors take turns playing an assortment of passengers, from the dotty old complainers to the retired miners seeking excitement on too little money. A touching, often hilarious, bitter-sweet play.
This play is performed by a small cast of three actors — Stick, Larry, and Frank(ie), 2 men and 1 woman — who work as coach drivers taking groups of eccentric passengers on day trips across Britain. The fun? Each actor plays dozens of other characters along the way — from chatty pensioners to awkward holidaymakers — often switching roles in seconds.
Men of the World will be performed at Shakespeare House, 93 Kedleston Road, Derby DE22 1FR from the 18th to the 21st of March 2026 at 7:30pm each evening.
JULIUS CAESAR
Directed by Leni Robson
Power. Loyalty. Betrayal. Shakespeare’s tense political drama comes to life in this bold new production.
Set in the heart of ancient Rome, Julius Caesar tells the story of a city on the brink. As Caesar’s popularity soars, fear and suspicion grip the Senate. A group of conspirators decide the only way to save the Republic is to kill its leader – but the consequences of their actions spiral far beyond anything they planned.
Performed in traditional Roman costume, this production puts clarity and character at its core. From whispered conspiracies to crowd-stirring speeches, it’s a gripping story of ambition, honour, and how democracies break apart. Whether you're new to the play or already know how the knives will fall – Julius Caesar has never felt more relevant.
Julius Caesar will be performed in Markeaton Park, Derby from the 15th to the 18th of July 2026 at 7:30pm each evening, and at the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno from the 10th to the 13th of August 2026, times to be confirmed.
