FAR AWAY
By Caryl Churchill

All of nature has gone to war; the elephants have defected to the Dutch and the weather is siding with the Japanese. But Joan and Todd are still making hats…

Far Away begins with a young girl questioning her aunt about having seen her uncle hitting people with an iron bar; by the end, several years later, the whole world is at war - including birds and animals. Far Away is a howl of anguish at the increasing - and increasingly accepted - levels of inhumanity in a world seemingly perpetually involved in conflict.

A SLIGHT ACCIDENT
By James Saunders

Penelope has shot her husband and wrapped him in a bearskin rug. Nowshe’s inviting the neighbours around for a visit.

When Penelope shoots her husband, rather than calling the police or an ambulance, she calls her neighbours in the hope they will understand, but then can't bring herself to tell what she's done. What follows is a comic collection of misunderstandings and verbal manipulation as she slowly steers her neighbours to the truth and an unexpected conclusion.
