2019 got off to a difficult start for Derby Shakespeare with our March production of ‘King Lear’ being cancelled due to problems with the venue. Thankfully we quickly found a new home on the welcoming stage of the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton where we premiered with Neil Scott’s revival of his 2015 production of John Godber’s ‘Shakers Re-Stirred’.
This was a great show, buzzing with energy, passion, emotion and laughter and an excellent showcase for its versatile cast of four. The show was a hit both with the local Long Eaton audience and with Derby-based fans who came with us on our first visit to the Duchess!
